Walgreen's has come up with a card called Walgreens Pharmacy W. It is being offered through the Walgreen's Pharmacy. They are offering an insurance you pay $20.00 for a single person or $35.00 for a family for a whole year. I have insurance but the one medicine hubby takes would be cheaper through their plan. However to us people that use coupon's and try to save as much as we can then this is for us. The W card also gives us 10% back on all Walgreen brands stuff we purchase. It puts the 10% on your Walgreens Pharmacy W card for you. The 10% is before the coupon price we pay so we make money there. This month in their Easy saver rebate book they have their Walgreen acid controller for $7.99 and after the rebate it is totally free. But if you have the Walgreens Pharmacy W card you would make .79cents on that and there are other ways to combine it to make free money.
I signed up at the Walgreens Pharmacy. I paid my $20.00 to them and they give you a temporary card the same day. It takes about four weeks for the actual card to arrive in your mail box. It looks like a credit card. The website says prior purchases are not eligible for the bonus 10%. But I have found this is not true. I have been going in and buying an $100.00 gift card and then doing my shopping. Keep your receipts that is $10.00 free money lol. Keep all your receipts and when you receive the Walgreens Pharmacy W card go on line to https://webapp.walgreens.com/MYWCARDWeb/servlet/walgreens.wcard.proxy.WCardInternetProxy/RxSavingsRH? Look Over on the left hand side it says Manage My Account. Then on the left again under that it says Add Receipt To Card. Click on that. Log yourself in. If you don't have a account you must register first. A page comes up that asks you to enter your RFN# from your receipt. The RFN# is a long set of numbers near the top of your receipt. The next page shows you a summary of that receipt. Click the blue button in the middle that says Add To Card. The next page will have a drop down menu, click that and click your Walgreens Pharmacy W card number. Then hit the continue button. The next page that comes up shows your receipt summary again and has a blue button for Confirm. Don't forget to click confirm on this page. Then your credit is added to your card total and that is shown at the top right of the page. If you have another receipt go back to the left hand side of the page and click Add Receipt to Card and start the process all over again for each additional receipt. I have found I have to wait 48 hours before I can enter the receipt's on line to get the credit.
Enter all your old receipts and you should get the extra 10%. After you have the actual Walgreens Pharmacy W card in your hand all you have to do when buying Walgreen brand items and what else you have when the cashier tells you what your total is you slide your Walgreens Pharmacy W card threw the credit card machine. The register is telling your card what Walgreen items you have purchased in that transaction and the amount of credit you have earned. Then you will pay the cashier the normal way you would. On the bottom of the receipt there is a line that prints out what items you purchased and were eligible for your 10% bonus. It will give you a updated balance on your Walgreens Pharmacy W card. I have been going in and buying there Walgreen's gift cards and than doing my shopping paying with them and getting 10% added to my Walgreens Pharmacy W card. So Mom has made her $20.00 out of pocket back. Also I will save money on hubby's rx. Plus I get to submit it back to the insurance company and get reimbursed on his medicines. But I don't know how long it will take for them to change. So if you try it and it doesn't work it isn't my fault.
When you want to use your balance on the Walgreens Pharmacy W card to pay for your items have all items rung up and slide your Walgreens Pharmacy W card first before any other payment method. Any balance on the card will apply to the total and you will pay the difference . If you have a transaction where you are both buying Walgreens brand items and you want to use the credit on your Walgreens Pharmacy W card to buy them you can do that to. Just slide the card as your first method of payment and then pay any balance. At the bottom of the receipt it will show you your previous balance, how much was used to pay during that transaction, and how much new credit you earned. You cannot use credit earned in one transaction to help pay for that same transaction. It must be used for a following purchase.
